you are not your gift

Marvin Olasky: You mentioned somewhere that as a small boy you saw very little of your father. He came home from practice, closed himself in his study, and you would push drawings and other things under his door to try to get his attention. Did it work?

A short blog post continues to challenge me about how I spend time with Puff: you are not your gift.

So your friend has a premmie

You’re often not congratulated. People don’t send you flowers and big balloon bouquets exclaiming “It’s a boy/girl” or “Congratulations!”. You’re often left to feel like you’re not a real mother in a room full of women holding, feeding and just having their babies.

Excellent advice on what to do if your friend has had a premature baby from someone who has been through the experience.
