week 465 / week 337

Another school week. Huff had some varied adventures this week; here she is looking up close into Mum’s phone.

We went out for dinner as a family after work on Friday night for some Vietnamese food. It was a cold, blustery night but good to be able to spend some time together.

Huff and Puff split their traditional dish of sugar cane prawn in DIY rice paper rolls. Puff is getting quite proficient, and Huff is starting to gain confidence to make her own.

Saturday morning, Huff was away with Mum for a shopping adventure, so Dad and Puff took a train to the city to find a “fractals and origami” workshop for kids. Puff is getting to be quite the ninja with paper, and made a level-1 Menger sponge out of a number of old train tickets (almost 200 of them!) Dad mostly watched, and helped fold some tickets, but it was a good excursion.

Sunday morning we had church, and then Sunday afternoon, with everyone feeling a bit unwell, we stayed in, watched a couple of Madagascar sequels, and had lots of different food together.

With Dad busy doing a lot of other meetings, it was time to work out some father-daughter time, so Dad and Huff went on a walk together. Huff was keen to take photos of the walk. Here’s Dad.

Huff was able to describe in some detail the path she wanted to take, so was excited to get over the bridge, and head towards the forest.

Dad really enjoyed spending some time with Huff, and listening to all her stories. She was breathing out in the cold morning air, and could see “a cloud” form in front of her. It’s a great way to view the world.
